Students will have the opportunity to enjoy the rich historical and cultural atmosphere of İstanbul and Hydra by participating in cultural events and excursions organised by the two Universities. For example, İstanbul Bilgi University will organise a full-day excursion in historic İstanbul and Beyoğlu/Pera. Participants will have the opportunity to visit, among other sites, the magnificent architectural structure Saint Sophia, the house of the Ottoman Sultans, Topkapı Palace, Byzantine monuments and prominent historical mosques and churches in the district of Sultanahmet. Afterwards, the heart of the city, Beyoğlu, the old Pera, which truly reflects the cultural diversity of İstanbul will be explored. Beyoğlu is yet another microcosm of Western-Oriental fusion typical to İstanbul. Furthermore, participants will have free time for sightseeing on their own and will be offered advice on sites that can be visited or activities that can be pursued.
